About Lake Alan Henry
Alan Henry Lake, managed and operated by the city of Lubbock, is a popular water oasis during the long, hot summers. Lake AlanHenry, also known as the Alan Henry Reservoir, is located on the west side of the Texas-Texas state line, south of Interstate 35 and north of Texas State Highway 35 in the city of Austin.
The reservoir was built as part of the John T. Montford Dam, which was built in the early 20th century to supply drinking water to the city of Lubbock.
As new projects are developed every year, your chances of owning a home by the lake are very good. As a relatively new lake, the shore of Lake Alan Henry offers excellent views of the city of Lubbock and the rest of Texas.
To provide public access, the city of Lubbock bought 580 acres along the coast and created the Sam Wahl Recreation Area. There is a four-lane boat ramp that is open all year round, and facilities include a swimming pool, picnic areas, a picnic area, an outdoor swimming pool and a water park.
The Sam Wahl Wildlife Sanctuary in the Texas Panhandle National Wildlife Refuge is designed to improve wildlife habitat in the Texas Panhandle. There is limited access to the wildlife area and the city of Lubbock must obtain prior permission to visit this wildlife reserve. The management of the area is required by the US Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) and the Texas Department of Land and Natural Resources (DLNR) for the conservation of existing wildlife habitats.
For more information about Lake Alan Henry and the Texas Panhandle National Wildlife Refuge, as well as fishing for perch and spotted perch, visit the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department website. The Budweiser ShareLunker program includes fishing and fishing opportunities at Sam Wahl Wildlife Sanctuary and other wildlife reserves in the state of Texas and includes a variety of activities including fishing, kayaking, hiking, camping and fishing. The Alan Henry lake is filled with trout, perch, whitefish, spotted perch, redfish and blackbirds. Perch fishing is available on the website of the Lubbock County Fish and Game Department and from local fishing guides and guides.
As the lake is very narrow, it is best to fish in the flooded forests to have the best chance of landing, as the water level drops very low.
Lake Alan Henry stretches for 11 miles and is a lake that leads to a picturesque view of the city of San Antonio and the Texas State Park System. The trail offers benches and signs for visitors close to nature, and the plans for the future of the lake and its surroundings also include the completion of the recreational trail. Lake AlanHenry offers a ride to and from the park, as well as access to the state park system and other attractions.
The view from the main park street is the highest point in the park and offers views of the city of San Antonio and surrounding areas as well as the Texas State Park System. Lubbock, just 45 miles north, is at the heart of all this, and there is also a museum in Lubbock that honours the life and work of Alan Henry and his wife Mary Jane Henry.
The lake offers beautiful views of the city of Lubbock, the Texas State Park System and the state of Texas. Watch out for the sprawling expanse of the Texas Plains to the south - east of Lake Alan Henry and watch over the lake from the main park road.
