There are many places to explore by kayak in the water of Silver Lake, Michigan, USA. With a steady, powerful thud we make our way to one of the six islands that surround northwest Michigan. We push through the morning fog that rises to the water surface and head for the shore of this beautiful lake.

Like most lakes in Grand Traverse County, Silver Lake was formed by glaciers and the 600-acre lake has an average depth of 1,000 meters. In the morning, the lake is shared with fishermen, but when children wake up and speedboats cross it, there is nothing but to bask in the sore muscles of the sandy shore of a lake and let the tension disappear in the sun.

At the southern end of Silver Lake, Beitner Creek is the primary outflow, and it flows into the Boardman River, which flows into Grand Traverse Bay near Traversia City. In 1987, the GrandTraverse County Drainage Commission added a flood dam at the Silver Lake exit.
The Silver Lake Improvement Association was founded in 1965 by a group of real estate owners. The association is committed to the protection and preservation of the water quality of the lake and also provides the resources for the many holiday homes around the lake. Private homes and properties are for sale in the city of Traversia City, Grand Traverse County, Michigan, and the GrandTraverse Valley.

The Association for the improvement of the Silver Lake organizes boat regattas and fishing competitions throughout the year. Fishing, water skiing and lake fishing are popular activities, as well as boating, kayaking and skiing. The Silver Lake offers many fishing opportunities for experienced and demanding anglers, where a variety of different fish species are available for fishing.
The lake is located in the western part of Grand Traverse County and is surrounded by pine and deciduous forests, surrounded by sandy beaches perfect for swimming.

Grand Traverse County was founded in 1840 and became part of Omeena County, originally a district of Michigan State. The county is located in the western part of Lake Michigan, about 30 miles south of Detroit, and includes Traverse City. Dubbed the "Cherry Capital of the World" because of the cherry orchards that grow along the bay, the port city is located on the shores of Silver Lake, a popular tourist destination.

Wine connoisseurs can enjoy wine tastings in the local vineyards, winter lovers can ski nearby, and the city is located on Manitou Pass, which has historically been one of Michigan's most popular tourist destinations. Today, Traverse City has established itself as a tourist destination with quaint shops, restaurants, bars, cafes, hotels and restaurants.
