About Taylorsville Lake
The salt river takes its name from the many salt production plants that once lined the river. Taylorsville Lake is located at the confluence of the Tennessee, Kentucky and Kentucky-Ohio rivers in Kentucky. The reservoir was founded in 1983 and offers about 5,000 hectares of water for fishing, swimming, fishing and recreation.
The Corps of Engineers lowers the water level in winter to prevent spring flooding. Taylorsville Lake is one of the largest freshwater lakes in the United States and the second largest in Kentucky. The deepest lake is 18.5 miles long and has a shoreline of 75 miles, with a maximum depth of 1.8 miles and a depth of over 2.2 miles.
Taylorsville Lake State Park is a 1,200-acre woodland area designed to your liking, with more than 40 RV parks for adventurous campers who want full service. The park is open all year round and the park's horse-friendly policy offers 10 places for horse camping.
Taylorsville Lake is one of the largest lakes in the state of Kentucky and the second largest lake in Kentucky. Fishermen can't wait to go to the lake and lie down and catch their first fish, as it is the most densely populated lake of all Kentucky fishermen who queue up to catch and fish in Taylor's Lake State Park.
Taylorsville Lake offers a full service marina from which boats can be launched, and is also accessible to the public through an Army Corps of Engineers jetty that offers excellent fishing and handicapped access.
Emerald trees embrace the shore and offer calm boaters an insight into the diverse wildlife and birds of the lake. The marina offers an open and covered boat slide, and the marinas offer open, covered boats and slides, as well as access to a full service boat ramp and parking.
When it gets a little too warm, the water in the lake is cool, clean and inviting, and the blue sky reaches over your head, inviting you to lash out to the surface while the golden sun warms your skin.
Whether you are looking for relaxation or adventure, Taylorsville Lake has activities to suit all tastes. Water skiing, snorkeling and diving are allowed and offer virtually unlimited opportunities to test your hydropower. Swimming is allowed in designated areas such as the public jetty and try to watch the orange sunset reflected in the water.
