Lake Spivey is one of the most sought after addresses - after Jonesboro, Georgia, USA, and is the second largest body of water in the state of Georgia. Lake Jodeco and its adjacent waters were founded in 1947 by Dr. Spvey and the Jonesboro Development Company. The 500-hectare lake east of Jonesborough was created in 1957 when Dr. Walter Spivesy's wife built a dam on a property he had purchased on Rum Creek. The property, which was formerly a cattle ranch and later a peach orchard, was quickly flooded and formed Lake Speyside.

Popular wisdom says that there was once a small settlement called Mayday, but little is known about the former settlement. A millstone was found on the property, which led to the assumption that the mill was the site of the first mill in the state of Georgia and possibly even the world.

It is known that a large number of Native Americans lived in the Jonesboro area, many of them from the Cherokee Nation. No artifacts have been found, but it is one of the most famous sites in Georgia and possibly the entire state of Georgia.

The 15K Road Race is an annual event, and the Founder's Day Festival raises funds for a variety of charities and community projects. Lake Spivey Community Center, the largest community center in the Atlanta area, is located on the west side of the lake, next to John Stevens State Park. It includes a swimming pool, tennis courts, golf courses, a golf course, an amphitheater and a tennis court, as well as a fitness center.

West of Jonesboro, you'll find a greater variety of attractions and amenities. East of the lake, Stockbridge commune offers magnificent views of Lake Spivey and Lake Jodeco, as well as a range of restaurants, shops and hotels.

Jonesboro has played an important role in Georgian history, and several major battles were fought here during the Civil War. Local historians can tell you more about the history of the city and its history, as well as its historical significance, but the Clayton County Visitor Office can provide more information on how to find it. Tara Blvd is considered the most popular tourist attraction at Lake Spivey and one of the best in the country.

The gallery hosts special events throughout the year, depending on the season, and the Clayton County Performance Arts Center produces several performances each year, with the center showcasing local artists and touring performances. Dr. Spivey's legacy is at Spivesy Hall at Clayton State University, just off the road from Morrow.

A regular concert calendar dedicated to concerts and exhibitions attracts world-renowned musicians to perform in front of audiences, as well as a variety of special events.

Lake Spivey is located less than 20 miles south of Atlanta and is easily accessible to everyone in the Atlanta area. A popular destination for hiking, biking, camping, fishing and other outdoor activities, it has been maintained for over 40 years by Clayton County Parks and Amusement Parks, which have a population of over 2,000. Lake Spivesi is located on the east side of the city, allowing easy access to the cultural and nightlife of Atlanta, while ensuring privacy and solitude.
