About Lake Wildwood

This man-made lake at the foot of the Sierra is home to a sophisticated residential area geared to recreation. Located just 50 miles northeast of Sacramento, the lake and its nearby golf course provide a peaceful environment for family fun. Lake Wildwood is an ideal place, ideally located for a variety of amusements. This lake is the first of its kind in California and will probably be the last for quite a while.

This land was originally the territory of the Maidu Indians, but when gold was discovered in the area, flocks of eager miners settled and uprooted the indigenous tribes.

On April 7, 1850, the inhabitants, dissatisfied with a new mining tax, voted for secession and the formation of their own nation.

History teaches us, however, that the citizens of this new republic were overwhelmed with patriotic fervor when other local settlements began planning the Fourth of July celebrations and quickly rejoined the United States. The Great Republic was over in three months, but the difference between the actual secession from the United States had a much greater impact on Lake Wildwood than on the rest of the state of California.

The miners simply could not bear to miss a good party, and the often futile search for gold soon led to settlers raising cattle and farming.

Lake Wildwood was once a meadow at Van Tagger Ranch, but was dammed up and dammed up by the creek. When the housing bubble burst in the late 1950s, the Boise Cascade Company bought large tracts of land in the area. Several thousand acres were purchased from Penn Valley and Deer Creek, and the complex included 3,000 acres of Lake Wildwoods and an 18-hole golf course.

This tightly knit community now houses more than 40 stakeholders who employ property owners and pursue their favorite activities. The clubhouse and public areas of the complex include a golf course, swimming pool, paddling pool and tennis court.

Wildwood Lake is a popular sports lake for water skiers, and picnic areas are available throughout the park. Here the inhabitants and their guests can ride the scenic paths as well as the cycle, hiking and cycling trails.

Fishing and boating at Wildwood Lake is limited to residents and guests, but other activities are only a short drive away. The lake is home to perch, bluefish and catfish, and there are excellent perch, considered the best fish in California and the world. The quiet streets of the gated community are safe for cyclists and pedestrians, and the lakeside is not open to the public.

Western Gateway Park features a highly rated disco golf course, an outdoor pool and a variety of outdoor activities. Part of the land purchased from Boise Cascade was donated to Penn Valley as part of a $1.5 million grant from the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

South of Grass Valley, Empire Mine State Historic Park offers access to the famous mine that produced more gold than any other in California. The city of Penn Valley offers a variety of outdoor activities including hiking, biking and horse riding, as well as a golf course. Located in the heart of the Sierra Nevada, south of Wildwood Lake, this hotel offers scenic views of Yosemite National Park and the San Joaquin Valley. Hundreds of hectares of hinterland offer miles of hiking and horse riding trails, as well as a wide range of leisure activities for children and adults.

In the small town of Wildwood Lake, local festivals are common, including the Secession Days on the last Sunday in June. Lake Wild Woodbebe is a popular tourist destination with a variety of outdoor activities including hiking, biking and horseback riding.

Thousands of acres of Tahoe National Forest provide unlimited areas for canoeing, hiking and camping. A variety of ski resorts are within an hour, including Thunder in the Tahoes region and thousands of miles from the town of Wildwood.

Lake Wildwood is easily accessible from Sacramento, Tahoe and Reno, but if you want amenities only a big city can offer, Sacramento is only 50 miles away. Finding a vacation rental in Lake Wildwoods is not usually difficult, and private apartments can be rented for as little as $1,000 a month for a one-bedroom apartment. Sacramento has a variety of restaurants, bars, shops, hotels and other amenities, as well as a great shopping and dining experience.

Properties are also available for existing houses and building plots, and there are several campsites within 10 miles, with campsites located a few kilometers from the lake itself and a few kilometers away.

If so, convince yourself of the advantages of the wild lake, bring a fishing rod and the perch should be huge and hungry. Lake Wildwood is a great place to do business with the military, as well as a great place for a weekend getaway.
