About Lake Dardanelle
Lake Dardanelle is covered by the River Valley region in northwest Arkansas, sandwiched between the Arkansas River and the Mississippi River in the eastern part of the state of Arkansas. It offers many excellent leisure activities, including hiking, camping, fishing, kayaking, canoeing and a variety of other leisure activities.
Lake Dardanelle was created by the US Army Corps of Engineers in the 1930s as part of a plan to build a dam to irrigate the Arkansas River. Because the Arkansas River is difficult to navigate, the River Harbor Act of 1946 allowed the construction of the first Mississippi River dam in Arkansas since the Civil War. In 1957, work began to improve the flow of water from the river to the dam and its tributaries, and was completed in 1958.
Bream, toads and mullets are stored in the lake and offer excellent opportunities for sport fishing. Lake Dardanelle is also popular for boating because of its proximity to the Arkansas River and the Mississippi.
Lake Dardanelle is one of the largest freshwater lakes in the state of Arkansas and the second largest lake in Arkansas. Fishing is best for bream, toad, mullet and mullet, as well as for perch and bluefish.
The area is experiencing a growing Canada goose season, as well as bream, toads and mullets, as well as perch and blue fish. The area is best suited for toads, mules, coyotes, foxes, raccoons, pheasants and other birds.
The animals and the picturesque surroundings of the lake offer ideal conditions for nature lovers and cameramen. There are bald eagles, which often sit on hooks in large trees, as well as other birds of prey such as foxes, coyotes, raccoons and pheasants.
Four communities are located in the immediate vicinity of the lake: Russellville, Dardanelle, Clarksville and Paris. Holiday homes and cottages can be rented in and around Lake Dardsenelle, as well as a number of holiday apartments.
Russellville is a natural paradise for outdoor lovers because of the lake, and offers many shopping and dining options. Russellville is the largest city with a population of about 1.5 million and an average annual income of more than $30 million.
