Thousand Islands Bass Fishing

One locale that every bass fishing enthusiast that is worth their salt has heard of is the interesting area that is known as the Thousand Islands. Unsurprisingly the name the Thousand Islands is an accurate description of this premiere destination for the bass fishing community.

The Thousand Islands is actually an archipelago on the North American continent that is split between the United States and Canada. True to its name the archipelago is split into small islands that number at around 1700 separate islands. According to sources some of the islands are connected to the Northeastern American state of New York while the other islands are connected to the Canadian province of Ontario. The area is a must-see destination for anyone who enjoys spending time on the water. The islands are very close to Ontario’s numerous scenic lakes and rivers and are also in close proximity to the majestic tourist attraction that is Niagara Falls.

Anyone who has ever had the opportunity to lay eyes on the Thousand Islands can attest to its beauty. If you approach the Thousand Islands via airplane you can see the long stretch of picturesque islets that are dotted with verdant trees and surrounded by an idyllic lake. Some of the islands are tiny stretches of land that are just big enough to have a small cabin while others are large enough to serve as the foundation for tiny castles that look as though they belong in a fairy tale. One glance at the Thousand Islands makes it easy to see why people have been frequenting the area when they take their vacations since the 19th century.

Today the Thousands Islands still draw people from all around the world who are looking to spend some time on beautiful waterfront properties. Many wealthy people have purchased estates and cottages that are located on choice real estate in the Thousand Islands. Bass fishing enthusiasts will find that they have access to plenty of businesses where they can rent the fishing gear and the boats necessary to have a worthwhile fishing trip in the area. There are also plenty of restaurants in the area that cater to visitors.

In Canada’s early days fishing was once a thriving industry in Ontario and likely was a sector that was central to Ontario’s economic development. Things have changed a lot since then. Factors such as pollution and overfishing have long since made the possibility of a thriving fishing industry in parts of that region of Canada a thing of the past. However this does not mean that the Thousand Islands are not a worthwhile fishing destination. Thousand Island bass fishing is still very much intact.

The Thousand Island’s natural environment has proven to be a habitat that is very amenable to bass fish which flock there in very large numbers. Due to a healthy ecosystem large and smallmouth bass can be found in great abundance there, much to the delight of anglers who are interested in Thousand Island bass fishing. The fish can be found in areas like Goose Bay, near the Admiralty Islands, Chamount Bay, Grenadier Island, Lake of the Isles and Fox Island. The Thousand Isles pristine natural environment and scenic landscapes make it the perfect place for bass and the anglers alike.
